Carriage Horse of St. Augustine | Digital Drawing

I have a new toy! I've had a little bit of time to experiment with it. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'll get the hang of it. What is it? An iPad Pro 12.9" with an Apple Pencil and I've been using ProCreate (drawing app).

Here is the first drawing I've done with color. I used a photo from a trip a couple years back to St. Augustine, Florida of a carriage horse having a refreshing drink while waiting for some customers. One of the great parts of the iPad Pro is that you can split the screen. So, I can have ProCreate open and have the reference photo open right next to it, like in my screenshot below.

After drawing and coloring in the carriage horse, I decided to add a layer and work on some line work so that I could possibly create a coloring book later down the road.

I'm really having some fun with this. If you're interested in seeing more, please subscribe to my blog and let me know if you're interested in a coloring book. Thanks!

The Graces at Garibaldi

Near Garibaldi, 10 miles northwest of Tillamook, are the Three Graces, which are three rock outcroppings in the bay leading to the ocean. There is a larger "Fourth Grace" with an arch in the middle of it. It seems like a popular place for fishermen, seagulls, and of course balancing on rocks.

If the weather is a beautiful as it was last weekend, you can miss any opportunity to stop and explore, especially when the tide is going out.

Night Photos at Rockaway Beach

While staying on the beach I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do my own steel wool photo adventure (the first one was a happy accident). So, my girl friend, Laura, was my fire spinner and we set up on the beach with the ocean behind her. If you look closely, you can see the stars shining through.

We also had some fun with the timer and capturing us on the beach with the stars, sand and surf. There was also a bright bonfire a family had on the beach, those can be the best on a slightly chilly summer night, roasting marshmallows and telling stories.

Make sure to get out and look at the stars this summer!!

Rockaway Beach at Sunset

Today I returned from a girls weekend at Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast and of course I brought my camera. I went on a little walk down to the beach on Friday night to capture the sunset.

I had a lot of fun over the weekend and am super pleased with all the photos I captured of the wonderful scenery and gorgeous weather. I hope you enjoy these!
