"Girlfriend Time"

"Girlfriend Time"
2013 Watercolor
11" x 14"

Isn't this is what girlfriend time should be? Hanging out, enjoying an adventure together and something that you will remember for always?

This watercolor painting is of two young women that I met at Philmont while working as a wrangler. When you work at a Boy Scout summer camp you do it because you love what you do and for us it was working with the horses and passing tidbits of knowledge and adventures to the scouts. But mostly because you will have memories that will last for a lifetime.

Supporting UNBRANDED film

There are about 20 days left to help support UNBRANDED, a documentary about 4 men, 17 mustangs, 1 mule, 3,000 miles, and 5 states during 6 months. Check out their website.

And have you heard of kickstarter? Well, UNBRANDED has one and that's how you can support this adventure. There are different levels of donations and each one has specific gifts you will receive. And if they don't make their goal, then they don't receive any of the donations … so let's make sure they can fund and share their trip! Here's their kickstarter.

Spread the word! I'm making a donation … will you?

"Breakfast on the Road"

"Breakfast on the Road"
2013 Watercolor
5" x 7"

This is my first watercolor of 2013! This is Colfax, a Philmont horse, munching his breakfast of grain in a feed sack before hitting the trail on Cavalcade. Sometime I want to visit Philmont again and just take photos of all the awesome sights! But for now I get to stalk all the photos wranglers take and then have permission to use them as art references….

Hello 2013! Guess what I did to ring in the New Year on the right foot?

I went hiking up in the Columbia River Gorge at Catherine Creek which is just up river of Hood River in Washington. And past the trailhead, there was snow up there! What a beautiful day!

Did you do anything fun today?
